Chic in Elastic Waistband

Dear Diary,
Weekend is almost here (but not soon enough).  Sometimes you just want to unload and shake everything off.  Forget your frumpy oversize t-shirt and yoga pants.  The best outfit to chillax in for you is this Joie jump suit.  I can literally jump, hop, and twirl (nap, too) comfortably in it all weekend longk yet no one will accuse me of leaving the house in my PJ!

What Does He Think?

Dear Diary,
I couldn't help but notice that men and women have very different taste when it comes to women's fashion.  When I wore this yellow lace peplum top with a bubble hem skirt, my husband complimented my not once...but twice. That makes me wonder what he thinks of my outfit when I try something more fun, less expected, and more... ME!?

Dear Diary,
It's been a while since I wore a pretty blouse with a jacket.  They are not the clothes of choice when it comes to running after a toddler who takes joy in being chased.  However, I miss this combination.  Maybe it's because it reminds me that I can be professional (or at least pretend to be) or gives the illusion that life with a LO is a piece of cake.

What's My Age Today?

Dear Diary,
Should you be dressing your age?  Have I entered a stage in my life where there are age-inappropriate outfits for me (never!)?  If you look around you,  you'll realize no one is really dressing their age nowadays.  Because blurring the age line is always a sassy girl's goal.

What's Your Intention Today?

Dear Diary,
Why did you get dressed today?  Is it because it's the widely accepted thing to do in our society?   Are you dressing to hide your flaws or flaunt your assets?  Are you dressing to stand out or make yourself invisible?  Answers are different every day and might even be different a few times a day.   There's a story behind each look you encounter, some have more intentions than others.  While I'm not able to share my story today (because I can no longer protect my keyboard from my LO's chubby little fingers =================p-po-i=m˚m jnlπı:::::), but trust me when I say I had no desire to resemble a modern clown of any sort.... at least not today.  Happy cloudy Thursday.

Brave In Lace

Dear Diary,
What is seemingly delicate but strong,  intricate but mesmerizing,  elegant but extremely bold?  You might think I'm talking about this lace skirt but the answer is women.  To all the brave women out there:  No men can do what we do.

Sheer All The Way

Dear Diary,
The weather has been hot hot hot!  How does one manage to look elegant in such weather?  The answer is apparently sheer sheer sheer.  Not just sheer top, not just sheer bottom, it's sheer top and bottom!  Who came up with it?  It's genius.  Not only is it surprisingly stylish, it also solves those humid hot weather embarrassing issues: sweaty thighs, underarms, and chest!  Me? Sweat?  Never!

All Dressed Up for Nothing

Dear Diary,
There's one thing all women in this world are guilty of: keeping something in the closet that they have no place to wear to.  Some you might have purchased with the intention to wear them for certain occasions, but I'm sure there are a few pieces that you clearly knew you'd never wear under most normal circumstances (like getting invited to go on Ellen, accompanying Bradley Cooper on the Red Carpet,...etc).  Well,  I have a few of all of the above.  Here's one that would have been perfect for a court wedding...which I have no intention of having (call me Bradley Cooper!).

Embellished Shoulders

Dear Diary,
Lately if I'm lucky then I get six hours of uninterrupted sleep.  I'm so exhausted now I'm sure I'll fall asleep if I close my eyes for a little longer (can someone explain to me why little people need to wake up at 5 am?).  So naturally, I am falling back to comfortable stretch tee and dark colors (consider yourself lucky I didn't wrap myself in all black).   But even a simple cotton tee can have a little bit of oomph.  A few embellished top is can be a life savor in emergency situations such as this.  It gives the allusion that...there's effort involved in dressing yourself.  Good enough for me...yawn!

Neon Bright Mini Me

Dear Diary,
It's time for another confession.  I'm slightly obsessed with matching my LO or color coordinate whenever possible.  It's a terrible habit I know but I just couldn't pass up the fun.  So before I give up on my obsession (yeah right!), I had to share these mother-daughter outfits.   I hate to admit it, but her outfit is definitely better than mine!
