Maui 6 Day Challenge - Day 3

It isn’t officially summer until you put on some vibrant and invigorating colors! Could there be a better way to shake your recession gray than by wearing tropical inspired hues? How about this recession-proof dress from H&M for $5 (gasp)!

I don’t believe a beach cover-up has to be something made specifically for the beach. As a savvy packer, I looked for a dress that was uncomplicated and appropriate for the street as well as the beach. This delicious citrusy yellow piece was the perfect choice for my relaxing day in Maui on Day 3.

Lounging on the Ulua Beach like Halle Berry (at least in my head), I pulled together the beach chic look with the essentials: a straw wide brim hat, large sunglasses, and a distressed leather carryall tote. But even a superstar needs to leave the beach side to eat sometime… so I added some drama by accessorizing the simple dress with a bold and fun statement necklace (which everyone should have). Put on a third piece cardigan for the evening and you are complete in the beach to street transformation!
