Flower Power

Dear Diary,
The world is constantly evolving and that means we must too, or we’ll be left behind and forgotten like the pink leg warmers from the 80’s or the off the shoulder sweatshirts with cutouts. For better or for worse, my fashion diary has been a great motivation for me to reinvent myself.

Floral prints are such a huge trend now but believe it or not, I am not a huge floral person. While I can’t explain myself why it’s okay for me to wear bright pink dresses, flowers headbands, or ruffle blouses, for some "unexplainable" reason, I would not pick out clothes with actual “flower” prints when I shop. A huge reason is because floral prints can easily look dated and fall out of fashion in a heartbeat.

Things changed when I laid my eyes on this soft and pretty blouse from Forever21! Perhaps it’s the pastel color pallets that made it seem more approachable. Maybe it’s the less than $20 price point that made me want to give it a chance. But I was surprisingly delighted when I tried it on because I felt like I was going to embark on a brand new adventure!

Top: Forever 21
Hat: Banana Republic
Boots: Giuseppe Zanotti

That top looks so pretty on you! I'm sure the colors and the style drew you in. It's a nice soft flowery top and not bedspread-like. I like flower prints, but they have to be done right and not look to cutesy or old-fashioned.

If I've read this yesterday I'd have said I was not a floral persona at all, but I realized yesterday while doing some shopping I am, a huuuuuge amount of what I bought is floral! Think your top is completely adorable!
