3x the Fun – Embroidered Tank Final

Dear Diary,
One of the most important skills all girls should have is the art of disguise. No, I’m not just talking about concealing one’s identity (although that might be useful some time in the future!). This time I’m talking about changing the appearance of one’s clothing.

I’ve put my skill to use for my third look of this embroidered tank and transformed from casual to work. The key to this look is to remind us to take a second look in our closet and recognize the true potentials of what we already own in our closet. Even if that means hiding the key feature in order for others to shine through!

3x the Fun – Embroidered Tank Part II

Dear Diary,
Winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress is just as cool as winning the Oscar for Best Actress. If I apply that logic to style, then I suppose the embroidered lightweight tank can happily serve as a layering piece for a sophisticated weekend look.

As if the flower details on my tank weren’t enough, I’m adding more interest to the outfit by layering on a cardigan with origami trim. I’m fighting texture with texture, and somehow they are coming together nicely. To light things up, I pulled on a pair of white skinny jeans to create a refreshing summer outfit. But even a Best Supporting Actress needs a pair of platforms, and my favorite YSL Tribute will do!

3x the Fun – Embroidered Tank

Dear Diary,
Back due to popular demand: I am tackling the impossible task of wearing one piece of clothing three different ways!

This time, the challenge is even greater. It’s a tank I found hanging in my closet for the longest time, unworn. And the reason is simple, this blue cotton tank with embroidered detail on the straps and along the hem very much screams summer, beach, and boardwalk. It’s too hard to resist the urge to wear it with a pair of shorts and espadrilles to kick off the summer vacation season!

Stay tune and see how you can put your summer tank into good use!

Don't Mess with Pink

Dear Diary,
In case you haven’t heard, pink and ruffles can be very fierce too. With my cutout leggings, I easily transformed what would have been just another pretty blouse to a very sassy outfit. Are leggings on their way out? I certainly hope not (although I was never much of a follower anyways). I wouldn’t mind holding on to these leggings for a little longer!

Modern Day Shorts

Dear Diary,
Inspired by an early morning flash shower in this warm weather, I decided to put on something crisp and fresh. To me, a white blazer is essential for every warm seasons. It almost doesn’t matter what you wear underneath, a white blazer guarantees a chic and fool-proof look every time. Furthermore, I particularly love the blazer and shorts combination, it’s the perfect outfit for any modern girl on the go!

Bright Colors with Glam

Dear Diary,
Let's be honest here, no matter how hard I try, it is much easier for me to get dressed up than to dress down. While I've made a honorable attempt to bring this yellow shell and fuchsia skirt combination to the street; glamour is really what is in my blood. I cannot pass the opportunity to show how I would wear the same exact outfit, souped up! It's amazing how easy it is to dress up an outfit with just a bold necklace and fancy footwear. Also, I'm using a small shoulder handbag as a clutch, hope I've not violated some handbag law somewhere!

Bright Colors Street Chic

Dear Diary,
I've been in the mood for some seriously bright fun colors for a while now. And to me, the brighter the hues the better! The challenge I gave myself this time is to bring the fun of colors to city-street style. And with the yellow shell and pink skirt combination, I can't be missed even on the busy street of San Francisco!

Skinny Cargo - A Softer Side

Dear Diary,
You probably saw this coming but I just had to do it! I wanted to show that military inspired cargo pants can be pretty and feminine too. The idea of pairing something ultra feminine with something rugged really resonates with me. And nothing says girly more than floral prints. So this flowy top from a previous post (Flower Power) goes perfectly with these skinny cargo pants in my eyes!

Skinny Cargo - Celebrity Inspired

Dear Diary,
I’ve found the secret to Summer dressing. The answer is in these skinny cargo pants.

The truth is, I’m addicted and they are all I want to wear! Looks like the celebrities are hooked too. While the hottest stars are wearing them with oversized tees and cardigans as they stroll down the Hollywood streets.

I, on the other hand have other aspirations. A more… sophisticated one. Without looking too far in Google image search, I’ve found my style inspiration - Charlize Theron at Heathrow Airport.

I might not have her killer Stella McCartney tuxedo blazer (or her killer legs for that matter), what I do have is a fresh take with a white blazer, perfect for this sizzling hot Summer!

Buy Love Give Love

Dear Diary,
Love can come into all shapes and sizes. As it turns out, it can arrive in your mailbox too from Buy Love. Started by two best friends, what Buy Love offers is great ideas with lots of compassion for the community. They offer lines of quality canvas totes, each designed for a specific women’s charity. The best part about Buy Love products is that your purchase comes with two totes for you to share with your best friend.

There’s no doubt that life is better if you have someone to share it with. While my fingers were feeling the soft leather and beautiful hardware details of the totes, I knew I had to share these adorable totes with my girlfriend, Nicole, who has been extremely supportive of Frills and Ruffles from the very beginning. Beyond her support in my venture, what I’ve learned from Nicole is that best friends are those that would do anything for you and with you, despite how silly it is and have fun with it. That includes wearing matching outfits, matching hats, and even similar sunglasses in the brought day light!

I consider myself lucky to have found someone to share my passion in fashion, fried food, condensed milk, Gossip Girl, and other extremely odd things! To my delight, our friendship is now further bonded by these very unique totes from Buy Love designed by two very special girls with big dreams and big hearts.
